MCW Stakes Claim to Siggy in WPA Resident Competition

After a fierce competition at the WPA Annual Meeting in March, the Resident Clinical Case Vignette award was presented to Claire Drom, MD, 3rd year resident in the Psychiatry Residency Program at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee. The coveted travelling trophy, the bust of Siggy, returns to MCW after residing at U.W. for the past year.

The 2019 Vignette Competition took place during the Annual Conference earlier this month at The Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake. Now in its 7th year, the competition continues to offer outstanding presentations from Wisconsin residents, as well as thought-provoking questions and interaction among conference attendees.

This year’s presenters included Drs. Erick Sheftic and Yelena Mironova-Chin from U.W., and Drs. Peter DeVries and Claire Drom from MCW. Doctor Ketty Thertus moderated the session, and judging the 2019 competition were Drs. Mitchell Illichmann, Jeffrey Marcus, Tony Thrasher, and Bill Webster, RN.

Next year’s competition which will take place on Friday, March 6, 2020 when the WPA Annual Spring Conference returns to The Edgewater in Madison.
