The state's Building Commission recently approved the release of funds to help the Medical College of Wisconsin finish its Wausau campus, according to a statement from Gov. Tony Evers' office last week.

The $2 million in bonds will help MCW complete renovations on a building on the Aspirus Wausau Hospital campus for its permanent teaching and administrative facility, according to commission documents.

The commission also released $4.2 million to prepare a design for developing regional juvenile corrections facilities and an expansion of the Mendota Juvenile Treatment Center at Mendota Mental Health Institute in Madison.

And members also signed off on $270,000 to prepare preliminary plans to improve the behavioral health unit at Waupun Correctional Facility.
