The University of Wisconsin System said last week that it’s assessing student mental health needs and services.

The system is developing three workgroups that will look at crisis management services, vulnerable populations and healthy learning environments. They're set to recommend changes early next year.

“We want to replicate what works and identify new strategies to fill gaps,” Board of Regents President Andrew Petersen said in a statement.

Student visits to campus counseling centers have increased 55 percent since 2010, with depression and anxiety the top issues, according to a statement.
